Welcome to Class 4 (Year 1)

Hi everyone! Welcome to our class page where we have lots of information about our class and learning in Year 1. Our day will look a little different from Reception and will include a Sounds-Write phonic session, a Maths lesson and an English lesson. In the afternoons, we will cover our topic work through small guide groups and continuous provision.

The class will complete a Phonics Screening in June 2024. This is a government standardised assessment completed individually with the class teacher. We will be working very hard to decode real and 'alien' pseudo words in preparation.

Reading and Homework

Homework will be set on Thursdays and due in the following Tuesday.  To submit homework, please take a photo on a device and upload it to the relevant task on your Google Classroom.

Children should bring their reading books in daily and we will be recording our reading through an app for use at school and home (more details to follow).  

P.E.

PE will be on a Monday for Autumn 1. However, can P.E. kit come to school on Monday and stay till Friday. It can be taken home each weekend to wash.
