    COVID-19 advice for parents/carers

    You can help to slow the spread of Coronavirus!

    • Make sure you and your children follow these general principles to prevent spreading any respiratory virus:
    • Wash your hands often – with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or an alcohol-based sanitiser if soap and water aren’t available.
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
    • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
    • If you feel unwell, stay at home and don’t attend work or school.
    • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in a bin.
    • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces in the home.
    • If you’re worried about your symptoms, please call NHS 111 – don’t go directly to your GP or other healthcare environment.

    School Meal Provision

    South Tyneside Council School Meals Service provide all food for our school. Whilst meals are cooked on site, kitchen staff are employed by school meals services and not the school. Decisions around provision of school meals is made by school meals services and not the school itself.

    For children of key workers and vulnerable children in school

    School catering staff will be serving a reduced hot and cold menu every day from Monday. These meals are free to all children attending school. 

    Children NOT attending school but entitled to Free School Meals

    Food vouchers

    Eligible parents will be receive email vouchers directly from Edenred, the company contracted by the government to deal with issuing vouchers. If you are having issues with your vouchers, Elizabeth Luke at South Tyneside School Meals may be able to help.
